Welcome to the Viola Russ McBride Scholarship page.
Viola provided a means to assist her descendants and others from her community in their education endeavors, herself being a UC Davis graduate. In fact, she was in the first class of women allowed in the agriculture program in 1936 and was the first women president of the Humboldt County Cattlemen’s Association. She was also an accomplished artist, renown for her water colors of landscapes and buildings, often with humorous characters interacting with a variety of animals.
